Forsyth Planning and Zoning split vote sends massive data center proposal to City Council
The Forsyth Planning and Zoning board failed to reach a decision on a massive 1,600-acre data center proposal, resulting in a 3-3 tie that sends the project directly to the City Council. The proposal is controversial due to its potential impact on water use, requiring 1.5 million gallons daily, and traffic congestion. Developers estimate the project could generate over $200 million in tax revenue upon completion. Forsyth City Council is scheduled to make the final determination on the development at its February 2nd meeting.
