For decades, the state’s growth story could be told in lanes: logistics, manufacturing, agriculture, finance, healthcare, higher education. Each moved largely on its own track, supported by strong institutions and pragmatic leadership.

That model is still important. But it is no longer sufficient on its own.

Today, Georgia’s economy is increasingly shaped by the innovation economy. This is a convergence of creativity, technology, capital, talent and place. This shift is not limited to entertainment or media. It is showing up in agriculture through ag-tech and supply-chain innovation. In finance through fintech and payments. In education through workforce pipelines, digital credentials and applied learning. In healthcare, logistics, sports, defense and advanced manufacturing.

The connective tissue between these sectors is no longer optional. It is strategic.

That realization is why we’re launching Georgia Insider.

This is the intersection between policy, economic growth and workforce development. 

Every morning, Georgia Insider curates and contextualizes what matters across policy, economic development, workforce, infrastructure and innovation. We aim to surface trends, decisions, investments and movements that have real implications for how Georgia grows, competes, and leads.

Where This Comes From

I’ve spent the better part of the last two decades building intelligence based publications similar to what you will find with Georgia Insider. For the past decade, I have been focused on Georgia Entertainment, a company originally rooted in film and production that has evolved alongside the state itself. What began as a media and events platform for the film industry quickly became something broader: a front-row seat to how creativity, capital, policy and place intersect.

Along the way, one truth became unavoidable: the creative industries have evolved from a vertical segment to a horizontal segment defined best as the innovation economy. 

It cuts across every sector. It influences how companies attract talent, how cities brand themselves, how universities prepare students, how rural communities stay competitive and how states differentiate on a global stage.

Yet much of this insight remains fragmented, living in separate newsletters, press releases, policy memos and thought leadership silos.

Georgia Insider exists to pull those threads together.
